I don’t know about you, but when I travel, I need my feet to be comfortable! We have been on many trips and I have packed many shoes, only to find that most are uncomfortable after a time. When we go on these epic trips of traveling more than 3 countries at a time, we are in many airports, tourist destinations, etc., it is hard to find the right shoe to give comfort, yet be sleek and stylish. That was until I found Tieks!
Tieks come in so many colors and styles. My first pair was the Matte Black. They go with everything!! You can dress them up or dress them down. My Tieks have been thru two deserts, played and walked at two oceans, played and walked at three seas, countless tourist attractions, at least 11 states and that is just within the last 3 years. They are still looking great! They are also very flexible and fold and makes them easy to pack. The are made from Italian leather and they are unique in that they have outsole pads.
When you order your Tieks, you have to go to their website as you cannot order them any other way. They recommend that if you are a half-size that you go down to the next full-size. My husband ordered for me both a down-size and an up-size so I could determine which was more comfortable. I landed on going to an up-size (6 1/2 to a 7). As to cleaning, since it is black and the material is leather, we just polish my Tieks. If you go with another color or multi-color this may be a little more challenging. They have polish in different colors for leather, but just using a good leather conditioner should work just fine.
As to price, some may say they are very expensive, and they are if you just look at the price; however, if I were to do a cost-benefit analysis (CBA) on these shoes, they are definitely worth the price. Seriously, I use these shoes like crazy. I normally would have gone through several pairs of shoes for the types of activities and number of trips these one pair of shoes have gone through. Remember, they are also leather and very high quality. So if you are one of those comfortable in the $50 range for a pair of shoes, if you go through four pair of shoes in the same amount of time in three years then you have justified the cost of a pair of Tieks!
Tieks are ballet style shoes and due to the leather they conform to the shape of your feet. I find that it is like I am wearing no shoes at all. I don’t have sore heels or toes or arches after wearing them hours on end. They are also great for running in airports! As mentioned above, these shoes have been in sand, have supported me as I walked many miles, and yes, sometimes even water has gotten on them; however, after three years they still look great and perform even better than the first day I wore them!
